North Mississippi Medical Center conveniently located 5 miles from the Pines, was selected for the 2006 Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation's highest Presidential honor for organizational performance. NMMC-Tupelo, a 650-bed regional referral center holds the distinction of being the largest hospital in Mississippi and the largest non-metropolitan hospital in America. The medical center serves more than 650,000 people in 22 counties in north Mississippi, northwest Alabama and portions of Tennessee.
Area residents have access to a medical staff representing more than 45 medical specialties, as well as centers of excellence in cancer treatment and research, neurology, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, cardiology, pulmonology, rehabilitation, chemical dependency, and neonatal programs. In addition, the NMMC Home Health and Hospice Agency serves patients throughout north Mississippi.

Lyric Theater
North Broadway Street is home to the award winning Tupelo Community Theatre. Originally a live production theatre, the Lyric has been restored and remodeled to provide Tupelo with one of the finest live theatre facilities in Mississippi.
Tupelo Symphony Orchesta
Tupelo is one of the few small U.S. cities that enjoys a professional Orchestra. The season runs from September to April with concerts held at the Civic Auditorium. Special conductors and soloists join the Orchestra regularly. The symphony also holds a free outdoor concert at Tupelo's Ballard Park around July 4th that yearly draws thousands of fans.
Natchez Trace
Located down the road from the Pines the Natchez Trace Parkway provides its visitors with richly scenic areas, numerous hiking trails, picnic sites, campgrounds and water recreation areas. Hiking on the Parkway presents both challenges and rewards. Over 60 miles of National Scenic Trail and 28 different hiking and self-guiding trails are open year-round. RVing on the parkway offers a great ride, and motorcycling and biking are popular with hundreds of miles of scenic, winding road between Natchez and Nashville.
Tupelo Buffalo Park
Visit The Tupelo Buffalo Park and take the tour on the Monster Bison Bus. With the largest buffalo herd East of the Mississippi River, you can get an up close and personal look on how and where buffalo live. You can even camp out over night in the Chickasaw Indian Village.
Golf Course
Big Oaks Golf Club located within minutes of The Pines feature 6,784 yards of a well designed 18-hole course that is both fun yet challenging. Built around its natural surroundings this course allows you to maneuver around more than 70 acres of water, well placed bunkers and rolling fairways. The course rating is 73.1 and it has a slope rating of 124 on Bermuda grass.
Natchez Trace Golf Club located five minutes from the Pines offers 6,669 yards of golf from the longest tee for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.6 and it has a slope rating of 128.
Tupelo Automobile Museum
Featuring 120,000 square feet of automobile displays and open viewing restoration bays, the Tupelo Automobile Museum is a dream for car lovers or for those who just want to stroll down memory lane.
Elvis Presley Birthplace and Lake
The Elvis Presley Lake and Campground is a scenic park named in honor of the city's most famous son. Located five miles north of the Elvis Presley Birthplace, the 850-acre facility is popular with campers, boaters, water skiers and fishermen.

Barnes Crossing Mall
The Mall at Barnes Crossing, located across the street from The Pines, has over 90 specialty stores including Dick's Sporting Goods, Barnes & Noble, Coldwater Creek, Ann Taylor Loft, Belk, Belk Men & Home, JC Penney, Sears, a 600 seat Food Court, Movies 8, Tupelo Auto Sales Central Park, and is host to many special events in the area.
